Notes on the declaration

Your declaration of intent does not oblige you to pay! Anyways, it should be a reasonable firm statement. This is important for us as we want to assess if we can raise enough loans to purchase the farm and the land directly or if we need to go to a bank after all. The farm, 3 hectares of land and bureaucratic costs will amount to approximately 240000 Euros. Even if you cannot come up with a chunk of change right now but later, your declaration will certainly help us.

Before you give us your loan, we will sign a contract with you. In order to do so, we need a legal form and a bank account. Our legal form will probably be ready in September 2015. Only then we can take private loans bindingly. We will contact you as soon as we are ready in order to discuss all matters (contract, interest rate, period of your loan, termination, our bank account,…).

The So Called „Kleinanlegerschutzgesetz“

In Spring 2015, the so called „Kleinanlegerschutzgesetz“ has been revised. The reform of that law aims to improve the protection of private persons that are conducting financial investments. The request for private loans by projects like ours is covered by it since then. We still have get a complete picture in how far we are affected. For the time being we will stick to the prerequisites the law defines for social and non-for-profit projects:

– the minimum period of a loan is 24 month
– the maximum interest rate of a loan is 1.5 percent
– the termination period is 6 month, by the end of a year

Preliminary Conditions For Private Loans

We would like to point out that you stay in charge defining the amount of loan, its interest rate and period.

You can define the amount of interest rate as you like, but there is also a limit for us. Zero percent interest rate is the best for us, since the borrowed money doesn’t cost us additional money. But zero percent interest rate also means that money loses its value over time due to inflation (simply put, the price level grows over time due to higher money supply provided by states and central banks). Our limit is 1.5 percent. This is the maximum interest rate we will give, since we will pay back all loans by means of our rents while we also aim for low rents that everybody can afford. 1.5 percent interest rate is also the maximum amount defined by the „Kleinanlegerschutzgesetz“.

The period of loan will be at least 24 month. Other than that you can decide how long you want to give us your loan. Longer periods of 7 or 10 years are better for us, as we have more time to raise the money to pay you back.
